# Flipbook limits

> How many flipbooks each plan allows, which flipbooks count, and what happens when you reach the limit or downgrade.

Each plan allows a set number of flipbooks.

| Basic | 15        |
| Pro   | Unlimited |

## What counts

- **Every flipbook you’ve created counts,** whether it’s a PDF, image or product catalog flipbook.
- **Hidden flipbooks count.** A flipbook with **Visible to customers** turned off still uses a slot.
- **Deleted flipbooks don’t count.** Deleting a flipbook frees its slot right away.

## When you reach the limit

When you click **Create flipbook**, the app takes you back to the **Flipbooks** page and shows a banner like this:

- “You’ve used 2 of 2 flipbooks on the Free plan.”
- “Your existing flipbooks keep working and stay editable.”

To make room, click **Upgrade** in the banner to open Shopify’s plan page, or delete a flipbook you no longer need. See [Manage your flipbooks](https://docs.neoflipbook.com/create-flipbooks/manage-flipbooks/).

## If you don’t have a plan

Without a plan you can’t create flipbooks, and the banner reads:

- “Choose a plan to create flipbooks.”
- “It takes a moment, and there is a free plan.”

## After a downgrade

If you move to a plan with a lower limit, you keep every flipbook. You can still view, edit, hide and delete them, and they keep showing on your store. You just can’t create a new one until you’re under the new limit.

For example, if you have 10 flipbooks on Basic and move to Free, which allows 2, you can create a new one once you’re down to 1 flipbook.

On Free, the [25-page limit](https://docs.neoflipbook.com/billing/page-limit/) also applies to your PDF and image flipbooks.

## Creating two at once

If you have one slot left and create two flipbooks at the same time, for example in two browser tabs, the second one shows “That would be one flipbook more than your plan allows, so nothing was created.” Only the first flipbook is created.
