# Embed or open in a lightbox

> Choose whether the Neo Flipbook block shows a flipbook right on the page or opens it full screen from a button or an image.

The **Neo Flipbook** block can show your flipbook in two ways: embedded in the page, or in a lightbox that opens full screen when a shopper clicks a button or an image. You choose in the block’s settings in the theme editor.

## Block settings

## Embed on the page

The flipbook fills the full width of its section in a landscape frame (4:3). On screens narrower than 750 pixels, the frame switches to portrait (3:4) so pages stay readable on phones. Embedding works well when the flipbook is the main thing on the page, such as a lookbook page.

## Open in a lightbox

The page shows a button or an image card. When a shopper clicks it, the flipbook opens full screen over the page.

- **Simple button** uses your theme’s own button style, with the text from **Button label**.
- **Image thumbnail** shows a card up to 480 pixels wide with rounded corners and a soft shadow. It shows your **Thumbnail image**, or a plain grey background if you don’t pick one. When a shopper points at the card, the image zooms in slightly and a white button with your **Thumbnail button text** appears. On touch screens that button is always visible.

> **Tip**
>
> The thumbnail card is 4:3 and the image fills it, so a landscape image works best. Images of other shapes are cropped to fit.

Inside the lightbox:

- A dark bar at the top shows the flipbook’s title and a round **×** button that closes it. Pressing Esc also closes it, as long as the shopper hasn’t clicked into the flipbook.
- The page behind the lightbox doesn’t scroll.
- The flipbook loads the first time a shopper opens it, which makes the lightbox a good fit for product pages. If they close it and open it again, it picks up on the same page.

## The lightbox needs a plan

Every plan includes the lightbox, the Free plan too. If your store has no plan, the block shows the flipbook embedded instead, and the theme editor shows “Lightbox is not included in your plan.” [Choose a plan](https://docs.neoflipbook.com/getting-started/choose-a-plan/) to use the lightbox.
