The 25-page limit
On the Free plan, shoppers see the first 25 pages of each PDF flipbook and the first 25 images of each image flipbook. Basic and Pro show every page. A store with no plan, such as a new install before you choose one or a store whose plan has ended, has the same limit.
What the limit covers
Section titled “What the limit covers”- PDF and image flipbooks only. Product catalogs are never limited, on any plan.
- What shoppers see, not what you can save. You can still upload and save longer files. Every page stays saved.
- Not the preview. The preview in the app always shows every page. To see what shoppers see, open the flipbook’s public link.
What shoppers see
Section titled “What shoppers see”The flipbook ends at page 25. The page indicator, thumbnails and search all treat it as a 25-page book, and links or outline entries that point past page 25 are left out. Shoppers see no sign that pages are missing.
The warning banner
Section titled “The warning banner”On the create and edit pages, a banner appears when a flipbook is longer than your plan shows. For a 40-page PDF on the Free plan, it reads:
- “Your Free plan shows the first 25 pages.”
- “The remaining 15 pages won’t be visible to customers. They stay saved, and upgrading brings them back.”
The number matches your flipbook, and an image flipbook says “images” instead of “pages”. Without a plan, the first line reads “Without a plan, customers see the first 25 pages.” Click Upgrade in the banner to open Shopify’s plan page.
The banner appears once the app knows the page count. For a PDF, that’s when the preview has loaded. A flipbook of exactly 25 pages gets no banner.
When you create a long flipbook
Section titled “When you create a long flipbook”When you click Create flipbook on a flipbook over the limit, a window titled “Your Free plan shows 25 pages” repeats the same message and asks you to choose:
- Upgrade now creates the flipbook, then opens Shopify’s plan page.
- Create anyway creates the flipbook as it is.
Either way, the flipbook is created and nothing you built is lost. When you edit a flipbook, you only see the banner, not this window.
Upgrading and downgrading
Section titled “Upgrading and downgrading”If you move back to Free, the limit applies to your existing PDF and image flipbooks right away. The app doesn’t warn you before it happens. See Change or cancel your plan.
If shoppers see fewer pages than you expect, see Shoppers only see 25 pages.
