Product catalog problems
Find what you see below. Most product catalog fixes in Neo Product Catalog Flipbook happen on the flipbook’s Catalog tab, in the Products section.
“This catalog could not be built”
Section titled ““This catalog could not be built””This banner appears when you click Build catalog. The message under it says why:
- “That selection has no active products in it. Pick something else, or publish the products you meant.” Catalogs include only active products. Draft, archived and unlisted products are skipped, and so are collections with no active products. Set the products to Active in Shopify, or pick others. See Choose products and collections.
- “Could not read your products. Try again in a moment.” Wait a moment, then click Build catalog again.
- “Could not open the Shopify picker. Try again.” Click Select products or Select collections again. If it keeps happening, reload the page.
When you edit a saved catalog, the same problems appear under the heading “The products could not be updated”, with messages that end in “so the catalog was left as it was”. Your catalog stays as you last saved it.
Prices or products are out of date
Section titled “Prices or products are out of date”A catalog is a snapshot of your products from when you built it or last refreshed it. Changes you make in Shopify, such as new prices, titles, images or descriptions, don’t appear by themselves. To update the catalog:
- In the app, go to Flipbooks and open the catalog.
- On the Catalog tab, open the Products section.
- Click the Refresh product data button.
- Click Save.
The date next to the button, such as “Product data from 11 Sep 2026”, shows when the products were last read. Products you deleted or deactivated stay in the catalog until you refresh. See Keep your catalog up to date.
Some products are missing
Section titled “Some products are missing”- “3 picked items were skipped because they are not active or no longer exist.” Those products are draft, archived, unlisted or deleted. Set them to Active in Shopify, then click Refresh product data and Save.
- “A catalog holds up to 250 products, so only the first 250 are included.” A catalog can hold up to 250 products. Products from collections come first, then the products you picked one by one. To show more, split your products across two catalogs.
Product cards aren’t clickable
Section titled “Product cards aren’t clickable”A banner such as “1 product has no online store page, so its card is not clickable.” means the product isn’t available on your online store, so there’s no product page to link to. Make the product available on the Online Store sales channel in Shopify, then click Refresh product data and Save.
Some products can’t be reordered
Section titled “Some products can’t be reordered”Dragging tiles reorders only the products you picked one by one. Products from a collection follow that collection’s sort order in Shopify, and they always come before the products you picked one by one. To set the order yourself, pick products one by one instead of by collection. Or change the collection’s sort order in Shopify, then click Refresh product data and Save.
The Save button is off
Section titled “The Save button is off”Save stays off while the app reads your products after a change, while it applies a reorder, or while a cover image uploads. Wait until the preview updates, then click Save.
“Could not read your products” after many quick changes
Section titled ““Could not read your products” after many quick changes”Each change to the products makes the app read them again from Shopify. After many changes in a row, you may see “Could not read your products, so the catalog was left as it was.” Wait a minute, then make the change again.
The cover image won’t upload
Section titled “The cover image won’t upload”“Could not upload the cover image. Try again.” Cover images are saved to your Shopify Files, so Shopify’s file rules apply. Try again, or try a different image. See Design the cover.
