Add a flipbook to your theme

Neo Product Catalog Flipbook shows flipbooks on your store through a theme app block called Neo Flipbook. You add the block to a page in the Shopify theme editor, then choose which flipbook it shows. The block works on any template of an Online Store 2.0 theme.

Note

Vintage themes don’t support app blocks, so the block isn’t available on them. On a vintage theme, share the flipbook’s public link instead.

Add the block from the app

1. In Neo Product Catalog Flipbook, go to Home.
2. In the setup guide, open the Add flipbooks to your storefront step and click the Add flipbook block button. You can also click Add to theme in the Storefront block card at the top of the page.
3. Shopify opens the theme editor for your live theme on the product template, with the Neo Flipbook block already added in a new Apps section.
4. Pick a flipbook in the block’s Flipbook setting.
5. Choose how it shows with the Display setting. See Embed or open in a lightbox.
6. Click Save.

Add the block manually

Add the block yourself to put it on any other page, such as your home page or a collection page, or on a theme that isn’t live yet.

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes, then click Customize on the theme you want to edit.
2. Use the page selector at the top of the editor to open the template you want.
3. Click Add section (or Add block inside a section), then choose Apps → Neo Flipbook.
4. Pick a flipbook in the Flipbook setting and choose a Display option.
5. Click Save.

Whichever way you added the block, you can go back to the app and click I’ve done it on the Add flipbooks to your storefront step. This is optional. The app can’t see inside your theme, so this click is what turns the Storefront block badge on the Home page to Active.

Picking a flipbook

The Flipbook setting lists your visible flipbooks by title. Hidden flipbooks aren’t listed, and a flipbook you’ve just created can take a moment to appear. If one is missing, wait a moment and reload the theme editor.

Notices in the theme editor

The block shows these notices only in the theme editor. Shoppers never see them: on your live store, a block that isn’t set up shows nothing.

Notice	What it means	What to do
“You haven’t created any flipbooks yet.”	Your store has no visible flipbooks. It also shows when every flipbook is hidden.	Create a flipbook, or turn on Visible to customers for one. Then reload the editor.
“No flipbook selected.”	The block doesn’t have a flipbook picked.	Pick one in the Flipbook setting and click Save.
“Lightbox is not included in your plan.”	Display is set to Open in a lightbox, but your store has no plan, so the block shows the flipbook on the page instead. Every plan includes the lightbox, the Free plan too.	Choose a plan, then reopen the theme editor.
