Product catalogs
A product catalog is a flipbook that Neo Product Catalog Flipbook builds from your Shopify products. You pick collections and products, and the app lays them out as pages: a cover, then pages of product cards. Shoppers flip through it like any other flipbook and click a card to open the product.
To make one, see Create a product catalog.
What a product card shows
Section titled “What a product card shows”Each card shows:
- the product’s featured image
- the product title
- a short description, up to 300 characters (it may be cut shorter to fit the card)
- the price, in your store’s money format
- a link to the product page, so shoppers can click the card to open it
You can hide the description, the price and the header at the top of each page. See Layout and product cards.
What goes in a catalog
Section titled “What goes in a catalog”- Up to 250 products per catalog. You can pick up to 50 collections and up to 250 individual products.
- Active products only. Draft, archived and unlisted products are left out.
- Products that have no online store page still appear, but their cards can’t be clicked.
Product catalogs are never limited to 25 pages, on any plan, including Free.
The Catalog tab
Section titled “The Catalog tab”When you edit a catalog, its first tab is Catalog. It has four sections, which stay closed until you click them:
| Section | What you set | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Cover design | Cover style, heading, subheading and cover image | Design the cover |
| Appearance | Theme, color palette, custom colors and page size | Themes, colors and page size |
| Layout | Template, products per page, and what each card shows | Layout and product cards |
| Products | Which collections and products are included, and refreshing product data | Choose products and collections |
Messages about your products, such as skipped items, show above the sections.
The other tabs, General, Appearance and Behaviour, work as they do for any flipbook. Note that the Appearance section on the Catalog tab designs the catalog pages, while the Appearance tab sets up the viewer’s toolbar and colors. See Customize the viewer.
Product data is a snapshot
Section titled “Product data is a snapshot”A catalog keeps a copy of your product details from when they were last loaded. If you change a price or a product in Shopify, the catalog doesn’t change until you refresh it and save. See Keep your catalog up to date.
